Our Story

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” – Psalm 118:23

Mother’s Day of 1963 (the first nationally recognized Mother’s Day) was the initial meeting of a small group of people in a union hall just across from a General Motors plant on east Coldwater Road in Mt. Morris Township. Together under the leadership of Pastor David Rice and his wife, Edith, Ambassador Baptist Church was established.

Over the next several years, the church would change locations and call on new pastors who served faithfully. Throughout it all, the foundation stayed the same: to serve God, study the Word, and reach the community.

In 1970, God put a burden in the heart of the pastor and members of the church to plant a new church in the Flushing area. Out of that desire, Flushing Bible Baptist Church was established under the leadership of Pastor Frank Meadows. For over 30 years, God used this church as a light in the Flushing community.

In 2003, Ambassador Baptist Church and Flushing Bible Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastors Dale Lewis and John Wagenschutz, reunited into one congregation. Not knowing what God would eventually do in bring the churches together for His glorious purpose, the FBBC congregation had purchased a piece of property in the northern part of Flushing Township. Together, they broke ground in 2006 and built a new church facility where we are located today. Both churches merged under the name North Flushing Baptist Church.

With a renewed fervor, modern facilities, and a growing number of energetic families, North Flushing Baptist Church is committed to: Love the Lord Supremely, Love One Another Sincerely, Love the Lost Sacrificially, and Teach Believers Systematically.
